Java Moss - The Most Common Aquatic Moss The Scientific Name of Java Moss

Aquamoss -> List of Aquatic Moss -> Mini Taiwan Moss
I acquired this moss some times back when I visited a plant farm in Singapore. It was labelled as Mini Taiwan Moss. Initially, I thought that it was just another fanciful name given by the farm for the normal Taiwan Moss, Taxiphyllum alternans.
The 'fronds' of this moss was relatively smaller than Taiwan Moss - Taxiphyllum alternans, and I thought that it was due to different growing condition in the farm that grew the Mini Taiwan Moss. However, I was in for a big surprise when I sent this plant to Dr Tan for identification. It does not belong to the genus Taxiphyllum, but in another genus, Isopterygium. According to Dr Tan, Isopterygium species is not aquatic in nature. However, I have been growing this moss for more than 6 months under submersed condition and it's still growing well. Recently, this moss has been available for sale in the local fish shop.
